Grassroots Means YOU!

grass·roots ( grăs'roots´, roots' ) pl.n.
(used with a sing. or pl. verb )

1. People or society at a local level rather than at the center of major political activity.
2. The groundwork or source of something.

We are so pleased and proud that again this year your Board of Directors has allocated much of its time and CAPA's financial resources to ensure that every single California legislator will have personal contact with a physician assistant from their district. Much of CAPA's budget (your dues dollars) is being spent to mount a campaign that will ensure that no California legislator currently holding office can ever say again, "What is a PA?". This is a huge undertaking and by definition - "Grassroots Means YOU."

You have an amazing team working to help you. It takes a village, you know. On board we have our Lobbyist, Bryce Docherty; our Legal Counsel, Mike Scarano, the members of the CAPA Board and Committees and CAPA staff. We are all needed to facilitate the grassroots push, but unfortunately we can't do it for you.

Contact CAPAWe work to make it very easy for you, however; to help you along the way and to guide you. We will answer any questions you may have, create sample letters for you (it is best for you to customize them just a bit) and alert you when your particular legislator is a key voter on a specific bill/issue. We really need every CAPA member to participate. It won't take more than a few minutes every now and then.

Let us know your name and that you want to be part of the campaign that will ensure that no legislator currently holding office in Sacramento will ever be able to say, "What is a PA?". We will get back to you with the name of your California Assembly Person and Senator (based on your address of record with CAPA). Later, we will prompt you when your legislator is voting on an issue important to California PAs. Again, we will make it easy for you to make a meaningful contact that could mean the difference of a piece of legislation passing or failing.

Thank you for making a difference. We can't do it without you.
