CAPA Announces Change in Leadership for 2020

Dear CAPA Members,

The Board of Directors for the California Academy of PAs announces that Gaye Breyman, Executive Director, will be retiring from the organization in December 2019 after serving in the role for over 30 years.

It has been said “Legacy is not leaving something for people. It’s leaving something in people.” Gaye Breyman has certainly met that mark – instilling in those of us that have worked with her a sense of duty and passion. In 2010, Gaye Breyman was awarded the Pride of the Profession, CAPA’s highest honor.

In the 9 years since, Gaye Breyman’s dedication and work ethic has never faltered. She continues to advocate for California PAs with the same commitment to excellence that has defined her career here at CAPA.

CAPA has retained the services of executive search firm Tuft & Associates to conduct a national search for an Executive Director of CAPA to succeed Gaye Breyman.

An Executive Director Search Committee has been formed, comprised of Past Presidents Bob Miller, Jeremy Adler, and Eric Glassman, Vice President Sandra Fineman, and myself who will present to the Board the most qualified applicants for final approval.

We will be forever grateful for the impact that Gaye Breyman has left on CAPA during her tenure. We are incredibly optimistic about the opportunities a new Executive Director will provide for this organization, to continue to propel the PA profession always forward and to new great heights.

Sincerely,

Brett Bergman, MPA, PA-C
President-Elect
Chair, Executive Director Search Committee
