Substance Use Disorder Training
As of June 27, 2023, the new DEA mandate require 8-hours of opioid or substance use disorder patient treatment and management training for all PAs and practitioners with a registered DEA number.
CAPA’s CME courses are accredited by AAPA, therefore any relevant training courses offered through CAPA count towards a DEA registrant’s 8-hour training requirement such as the Controlled Substance Education Course (6 hours of CME).
CAPA is now offering an additional 2 hours in substance use disorder training to help clinicians needing to satisfy the new DEA training requirement! Effective October 2023, registration for the CAPA Controlled Substance Education Course will include the DEA 2023 MATE Act Training Courses package to complete the requirement.
